By Hettich/23 September 2020/The Block hits a milestone as Scotty Cam reveals his first ever kitchen reno on the show Friday 23 September

While we are used to the contestants of Australia’s favourite renovation series ‘The Block’ competing with each other, this year marks the first time in the show’s history to include host Scotty Cam in the house renovating fun. His challenge has been remodeling a historic weatherboard house originally built in 1866 which has been unoccupied for the past 25 years. Getting a 3 month head start before the arrival of this season’s contestants, Scotty has since been able to complete his guest bedrooms and ensuite, master bedrooms and ensuite, kitchenette/study, main bathroom and more. So far, the house’s transformation has been an extreme improvement from its original condition earlier this year, with almost inhabitable appearing bedrooms and burnt black kitchen ceilings to its current incredibly stylish interior which provides a sense of warmth and luxurious space throughout the property.

Last week’s episode followed the aftermath of the guest bedroom and bathroom reveals, with Sarah-Jane celebrating her and her husband Tom’s $10,000 win with a hair extensions appointment onsite, Rachel & Ryan anticipating their Freedom Kitchen reveal, Omar & Oz getting ahead of the game and Blockheads teaming up to help renovate the house of best friends Tim and Tyler with an endearing backstory of their own. As the five houses have recently been listed on the market, contestants are nearing the end with the highly anticipated reveal of their Freedom Kitchen creations, each with its unique flair and design.
