Terms and conditions of taking part with data privacy advice

1. Subject matter of the terms and conditions of entry, organiser

1.1.  These terms and conditions govern the conditions for taking part in the "Design Thinking Workshop" competition as part of subscribing to the Hettich newsletter. 

1.2.  Prize draw organiser is Hettich Marketing- und Vertriebs GmbH & Co.  KG, Anton-Hettich-Strasse 12-16, 32278 Kirchlengern, Germany (referred to below as "Hettich").  

1.3.  Taking part in the prize draw constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. 


2. Entry conditions

2.1. Employees of companies manufacturing outdoor furniture and based in Germany, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands are eligible to participate.  In addition, only employees aged 18 and over shall be eligible to.    

2.2. Employees of Hettich, companies affiliated with Hettich and consumers are excluded from the competition.  

2.3. Persons wishing to enter the prize draw will be able to do so by subscribing to the Hettich newsletter. Subscription to the newsletter will be completed as soon as the prize draw entrant has confirmed such in a  double opt-in email.  Entering the prize draw will only be possible after submitting this confirmation.  

2.4. Any participant may take part in the competition once only.

2.5. The closing date for entry is 15.03.2024, 18. p.m. CET.  


3. Prize and notification of winning

3.1. A winner will be selected at random from all participants within two weeks of the closing date.  

3.2. The prize includes participation in a one day German speaking Design Thinking Workshop in Kirchlengern for two people.  This will entitle the winner to register one other employee from his or her company for the workshop.  The workshop will take place in the second quarter of 2024. The prize includes bed and  breakfast hotel accommodation for two persons as well as food and beverages during the workshop.  Not included in the prize are the costs of travel to and from the venue.  

3.3. The prize winner will be informed in good time by email.  

3.4. If the winner cannot be contacted, his or her claim to the prize will lapse.  In this case, Hettich shall be entitled to conduct a substitute draw.  

3.5. The winner shall be entitled to transfer the prize to any other employee from his or her company.  However, the prize cannot be exchanged for anything else or paid out in cash.  


4. Premature Termination  

4.1. Hettich reserves the right to terminate the prize draw prematurely at any time and without prior notice for good cause.  Any termination for good cause may be effected in particular if, for technical reasons (e. g.  viruses in the computer system, manipulation or faults in the hardware and/or software) or for legal reasons, it cannot be ensured that the prize draw can be conducted in the proper manner.  

4.2. As such, any liability towards participants shall be ruled out.  


5. Exclusion

5.1. Hettich reserves the right to exclude participants from taking part who violate the terms and conditions of entry.  

5.2. If the entrant excluded is the winner who has already been drawn, the prize may be subsequently disallowed.   


6. Data Privacy Advice

6.1. Hettich collects personal data as part of the newsletter subscription process. The specific personal data collected, the way in which such data is processed and the rights to which the participant is entitled are described in detail in the Data Privacy Statement.

6.2. In addition to the purposes stated in the Data Privacy Statement, the data collected by Hettich as part of subscribing to the newsletter will be used to hold the prize draw. The legal basis for processing data to hold the prize draw is Art  6 ( 1  b), GDPR.  

6.3. Should the entrant assert his or her right to have his or her personal data erased before the end of the prize draw, such shall result in the entrant being excluded from taking part in the competition.


7. Final provisions

7.1. In the event of disputes, only German law shall apply.  The organiser's decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into in respect of reviewing the prize draw.  
     
7.2. Should individual provisions of these terms and conditions of entry be or become invalid in whole or in part, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining terms and conditions of entry.
