Know your wardrobes!

Carrie Bradshaw spoke the truth when she said, “I like to see my money where I can see it, hanging in my closet”. Wardrobe is not just a piece of furniture used for storage. It is an entity where people spend hours in front of fussing over what to wear for that life altering Job Interview or the very special date. For most people, a Wardrobe is a direct extension of their personalities and is very personal and hence dear to them.

Depending upon whether you like to see all your clothes organized in front of your eyes or you just want a place to store your clothes, there are endless possibilities if only you can imagine the same.

Here is a list of wardrobe concepts that are typically used:

Sliding Door Wardrobe

The sliding systems are the trendsetters of the Wardrobe category. They are luxurious, elegant, available in custom sizes and are generally pretty versatile. The floor-to-ceiling version of the same is luxurious, is up to 4-meter-wide, and is super accommodating.

The sliding shutters can be personalized to have a wooden, metallic or glass finish depending upon your choice and Interiors.

Generally, this type of wardrobes can also accommodate accessories, linens and even luggage bags. A smaller variant of the sliding door wardrobe is ideal for someone looking for a value for money solution.

Sliding and Folding Door Wardrobe

This is another variant of the sliding door wardrobe wherein the shutters fold out and open up completely exposing the entire wardrobe at one go.

This is ideal for someone looking for relatively smaller sized wardrobes or solutions for space constrained set ups. This is because you can access the contents of the entire wardrobe simultaneously, eliminating the need for wider wardrobes.

Walk-in Wardrobe

Walk-In Wardrobe is undoubtedly the most luxurious option for wardrobe that there exists. This type of wardrobe is completely customized as per the space available, needs of the individual and of course, size of the room.

The concept allows for elaborately constructed structures for storing individual elements such as a separate section for handbags, an entire shelf for storing just shoes or a lavish corner simply for storing watches and ties.

Open Wardrobe

This is a contemporary concept which is gaining a lot of traction these days. Typically comprising of open shelves, this is the trend ushered in by the minimalists.

The shelves are typically installed directly into the wall and the drawers are attached to a standalone frame which may or may not be fixed to the wall.

Since there is no bulky carcass or outer casing, this type of wardrobe compliments the clean Scandinavian set up very well.

Hinged Door Wardrobe

This is the traditional wardrobe which has been in existence since the longest time. This is placed at a relatively less price point making it the most economical solution.

Again, the same can be made to look classier by replacing the traditional wooden doors with glass doors or by replacing regular Hinges with soft closing Hinges for effortlessly smooth operation.

You can also use Hinges in shades of onyx and obsidian to match the aesthetic of your wardrobe doors and the overall interior by extension. Hinged door wardrobes can be standalone or firmly fixed to the walls. However, with the advent of modular furniture, people now prefer sleeker designs which they can move at their convenience.
