This week’s episode marked the highly anticipated reveal of each of the contestant’s kitchens, including Scotty Cam’s new countryside kitchen by Freedom Kitchens perfectly encapsulating The Block’s theme of ‘Tree Change’ as this season moved the show from the usual suburbian neighborhoods to the regional outstretches of rural Victoria where heritage homes reside.
Unique compared to any of the other contestant’s kitchens is the laid out brick flooring which embraces the heritage of the location, paired alongside the white splashback, walls and ceiling that brighten up the room itself.
Rather than opt for the generally trendy marble tabletops found in most modern kitchens, Scotty has decided to include a wooden table placed at the center of the room, tying perfectly with this year’s theme as it evokes a welcoming and warm vibe upon first glance.

In a bold move, each of the various furniture of cabinets and shelves adopt black tones which cleverly creates a sense of contrast amongst the Freedom Kitchen, with curved handles coated in obsidian-like black to fit in seamlessly within the room. Our AvanTech YOU Illumination drawers create that finishing touch to the Freedom Kitchen, not only with its satisfying soft closing function and modern sleek design, but upon opening its LED light signature brightens up the side glass panels and the contents of the drawers itself. Scotty Cam has clearly taken advantage of Hettich’s award-winning drawer system and its endless customisable features, which harkens back to The Block’s core appeal of encouraging innovation and self-expression through the renovation of Australian homes.
Hettich Australia is proud to have been featured on Channel 9’s The Block. Tune into the next episode on 7pm Sunday nights.
